Starting slot exchange
Your grandmother suddenly turns 90, you miss your holiday or hairdresser appointment – something can always come up that prevents you from taking part on October 4!
That is why we have set up a starting slot exchange where you can offer and sell your starting slot by August 31, 2026 at the latest. The exchange will close after this date. Here is how it works:
Sellers: Click on the ‘Link to the starting slot exchange’ button in the email about the starting slot exchange that every participant received from us on February 19, 2026 and follow the instructions there. If you registered after February 19, 2026 you will find the link in your confirmation of registration.
Buyers: If you would like to purchase a starting slot, click on the ‘Buy’ link and fill out the registration form completely.

Important note regarding the starting slot exchange
In this starting slot exchange, available slots for the marathon and the half marathon are displayed separately.
Under ‘Generali Cologne Marathon’ you will find marathon entry slots only.
Under ‘Generali Cologne Half Marathon’ you will find half marathon entry slots only.
⚠️ Please note:
If no half marathon starting slots are available, the relevant section will not be displayed.
At present, half marathon starting places are very rarely available.
Purchasing a marathon entry does not constitute registration for the half marathon and cannot be converted.
Please therefore check carefully which race you are registering for before making your purchase.
