The producer of sportsware signs contract for three years

Saucony becomes RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne’s new supplier. The three year-contract includes the supplement of the 2,000 volunteers with functional garments. Further, Saucony will provide the official participant shirt.

Markus Frisch, CEO of Köln Marathon Veranstaltungs- und Werbe GmbH:

“Saucony is a congenial brand that commits itself to the running sport for more than 35 years and that will be a good contribution to the Cologne Marathon due to its competence and ideas. The participants may look forward to the special edition of this year’s 20th anniversary.”

Mika Froesch, Country Manager Germany, Austria, Poland:

“We are very proud of becoming the new premium sponsor of the RheinEnergieMarathon Cologne for the three years to come. We focus on running and having fun when running. The marathon race in Cologne embodies exactly these two aspects. Moreover, the area in Western Germany is one of the most important for us as there are numerous of our retailers as well as of running enthusiasts in that region. As a partner of the Cologne Marathon we may share the pleasure of running with the participants.”

About Saucony:

“Fast running river” is the translation of the name “Saucon” that the Indians gave to the river in the U. S. state of Pennsylvania where SAUCONY was founded in 1898. The modification to “fast running river” suggests itself – the producer of sportsware concentrates on the running sector for more than 35 years: The name SAUCONY combines technical perfection, thrilling design – and the love for running. SAUCONY Germany is located in Munich and is part of the Wolverine Europe B.V.
